Hobcaw Point | Mount Pleasant Real Estate

Hobcaw Point Mount Pleasant, SC
Hobcaw is the native American word for land between the waters. The name is a perfect fit for this beautiful neighborhood which has two tidal creeks (Molasses and Hobcaw) as its borders that flow into the Wando River.
Historically, this area was once the base for production of timber and building of ships, particularly during the colonial era. Hobcaw later became the hub of Charleston's city powder magazines. Now, the quiet and natural ambiance is evident despite the rapid changes happening around Mount Pleasant.
A beautiful and established neighborhood, Hobcaw Point, is one of Mount Pleasant's favorite communities for water lovers. Some of the homes have water access and an amazing view of the waterfront. Most of the lots are a minimum of half an acre while those lots close to the Yacht Club are smaller. There about 371 houses. A few of the homes date back to 1952, and most have been renovated. This friendly community is filled with breathtaking oaks and azaleas and features a beautiful park for children and the young at heart.
