Salt Wood Company | Local Furniture Crafters

We are so fortunate to live in the Charleston area. Not only are we in one of the most beautiful places in the world, we have some of the best local businesses. There are amazing restaurants, fabulous independent clothing boutiques, inspiring fitness centers and instructors, and unbelievably talented artisans. I am so happy to be able to spread the word about some of my favorites! The first business I'm featuring was picked because of their great mission, beautiful designs, and skilled craftsmanship.

Salt Wood Co. - Furniture

Local business Salt Wood Co. designs and builds beautiful one of a kind furniture from reclaimed wood. Established in 2013, Salt Wood Co. has used wood reclaimed from a mill in upstate South Carolina, Charleston's Vendue Inn (1780 structure), and other interesting structures with former lives. Owner Vann Cochran sums it up: "Our mission is to fully realize that the wood we work with is appreciably older than we are. It deserves every bit of our time and patience to repurpose it in such a way that ensures it will last long after we are gone."
