About Shemwood I and II
These established neighborhoods are within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes drive to downtown Charleston or Sullivan's Island beaches. Access Shemwood from Coleman and Shemwood II from Chuck Dawley. Shemwood is one of Mt. Pleasant’s first neighborhoods. Streets include Shem Drive (North and South), and Charlotte Lane. Shemwood II is further up the creek- streets include Seagull, Night Heron and Jacksnipe.
A few properties overlook Shem Creek and lot sizes range from 1/4 of an acre to a 1/2 acre. Brick ranch style homes are a majority in both neighborhoods and most homes were built between the 60's and the 80's. Shemwood typically has larger lots than Shemwood II, there are also more waterfront homes. A two acre land parcel surrounding Peggy's Park playground was given to Shemwood II by the Mount Pleasant Land Conservatory.
